Steel girder of Bogibeel Bridge installed

GUWAHATI, Feb 8 � The NF Railway Construction Organisation has installed the sixth all welded 125-metre span steel girder on the Bogibeel Bridge across the river Brahmaputra.

Installing of the girder commenced at 9 am on February 2 and was completed at 7.30 am on February 4. This girder is the sixth out of the total 39 spans of 125 metre to be launched across the river. The Bogibeel Bridge near Dibrugarh with a total length of 4,940 metre is the longest rail-cum-road bridge in India. The project is targeted for completion by June, 2017.
