Status quo on Ayodhya verdict extended till May 31 by HC

LUCKNOW, Feb 9 (PTI) - The Allahabad High Court today extended till May 31 the status quo on the implementation on its September 30 order on the Ayodhya title suits.

While extending the status quo, a special Lucknow full bench of the court comprising justices S U Khan, Sudhir Agarwal and V K Dixit reserved its order on three review petitions filed by local lawyer M Ismail Farooqui.

Farooqui had moved petitions seeking review in the judgement on the suits of Rajendra Singh, Nirmohi Akhara and Bhagwan Ram Lala Virajman.

The court had earlier extended the status quo till February 15.

In its September 30 order, the court had provided three months time for filing the appeal while directing that the judgement shall not be operative for three months from that date.
