State�s police stations to be modernised: IGP

DERGAON, May 31 � �The mindset of Assam Police has changed. At present the police-public relation has improved a lot. But due to some overburden sometimes some unexpected incidents take place. To make the relation more fruitful the police stations of the State will be modernised.� This was stated by IGP Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta while addressing a seminar on �Implementation of the Assam Police Act, 2007 and relation between police and public� held at Police Training College, Dergaon on Tuesday.

The seminar was organised by Jorhat Law College as a part of the community service and was ceremonially inaugurated by Justice SN Phukan by lighting the lamp. The seminar was conducted by Dr Subhram Rajkhowa, HoD, Department of Law and was moderated by advocate Medini Kamal Bora.

The welcome address was delivered by the principal of Jorhat Law College, AK Ray. The lecture of the guest speaker was delivered by Bhava Goswami, president of Jorhat Bar Association. The seminar was also addressed by journalist Samudragupta Kashyap, DIG Prabin Chandra Saikia, Anurag Tankha, writer Arun Goswami among others.

Earlier, a group song was presented by the students of Jorhat Law College.
