GUWAHATI, Nov 11 � Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today reiterated that the State Government will make a fresh plea to the Centre for awarding Dr Bhupen Hazarika with Bharat Ratna.
�I had written to the Prime Minister around two months back asking the latter to consider Dr Hazarika for Bharat Ratna, against which I also received an acknowledgment letter from the PMO. Now, I will personally take up the matter with the Prime Minister,� Gogoi said.
Gogoi was speaking to media persons on the sidelines of a function in the capital city.
