GUWAHATI, Aug 17 - The All Assam Chess Association has announced the names of the players who will be representing the State in the 47th National Junior (U-19) Chess Championship for Boys and Girls.
The championship will be organised by the All Bihar Chess Association at Pataliputra Sports Complex, Patna from September 3 to 11. The players are selected on the basis of their performance in the All Assam Inter District Chess Championship held in Silchar in May.
The selected players are: (Boys) Iftikar Alom Choudhury (Cachar), Rituraj Borgohain (Dibrugarh), Sandip Nath (Guwahati) and Ravin Sarkar (Tinsukia). (Girls) Simran Ahmed (Guwahati), Debangana Kar (Cachar).
Rajib Dhar, general secretary of the State chess body urged all the selected players to confirm their participation, stated a release.
