State senior cricketers to tour Bangalore

GUWAHATI, Sept 8 � A senior team of the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) will tour Bangalore to play four friendly matches against different teams there.

It will be an exposure tour before the Ranji Trophy season, informed ACA secretary Bikash Baruah. Assam already took part in the All India Buchi Babu tournament in Chennai but the performance was not satisfactory. The team to Bangalore, led by Gokul Sharma will leave tomorrow. Three outside players � S Satish, Dhiraj Yadav and Sayed Mohammad are not included in the team.

Assam will begin its Ranji campaign in the Plate Group on November 3 against Jammu and Kashmir in the away match.

Meanwhile, four leading players Arlen Konwar, Parvez Aziz, Sib Sankar Roy and Ranjit Mali, who are employees of NF Railway, have been summoned by Indian Railways to attend their camp. If selected to play for Indian Railways team then Assam will definitely miss the services of those four vital players.

The team for Bangalore: Gokul Sharma, (Capt), Tarjinder Singh (Vice capt), Rishav Das, Sarupam Purkayastha, Pritam Debnath, Chandan Rawat, Amit Sinha, Kunal Goswami (wk), Rajdeep Das (wk), Prasanta Sonowal, Pritam Das, Arup Das, Krishna Das, Imtiaz Hussain, Bichitra Baruah, Dhiraj Goswami, Pallav Das.
