State rowers shine

GUWAHATI, June 6 � The Assam rowing team won 2 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals in the recently concluded 16th Sub-junior and 17th Challenger Sprints National Rowing Championships organised by the Rowing Federation of India and Karnataka Amateur Rowing Association at Bangalore, stated a Assam Boat Racing & Rowing Association, stated a press release.

It can be termed as a laudable show by Assam rowers as despite having minimum infrastructure they have been able to win medals in the national level.

The medal winners: Women Challenger Sprints National: Nafisa Sadiq (gold in single scull), Nafisa Sadiq and Shreyanshi Kashyap (bronze in double scull).

Sub-junior National: Jyestha Dipak and Hanshita Sarmah (gold in U-13 double scull), Akash Deep Rajkhowa and Manab Jyoti Dutta (silver in double scull), Arindita Deka and Prerna Basnet (silver in pair).
