SAO PAULO, July 9 Terrific arrangement.
The Arena de Sao Paulo here belongs to the leading club of the Brazil Sports Club Corinthians Paulista which is situated in the eastern part of the city. This part of the city is believed to be the most neglected and to satisfy the people of the locality, the World Cup organising committee has set up the stadium.
A FIFA bus took us to the stadium from the Rua Masetro Cardium area where the FIFA approved hotel is situated. It is very near to our hotel. I had to collect the FIFA accreditation badge from the LOC office outside the stadium. As I entered the media centre, trouble surfaced as I did not have the ticket for tomorrows match. Finally, one FIFA official from England helped me to collect the match ticket.
The media centre here is unbelievable. With a sitting capacity of 1,500 with all the modern facilities, the media centre is really a spot to be observed. The media gallery is also beautiful and well equipped. But the space between the playing ground and the gallery is not very much. The stands are steep and the spectators have to toil while reaching their seats at the top. But the view is conducive from all the stands.
