State level Kayakalp awards presented in Arunachal

ITANAGAR, April 25 - The State level Kayakalp Awards (2016-17) were today presented by Arunachal Health & Family Welfare Minister Jomde Kena in a ceremony held at Civil Secretariat here.

The Kayakalp award is to felicitate the public health facilities � district hospitals and community health centres in the State � for their work in maintaining high standards of sanitation and hygiene.

In the district hospital (DH) category, District Hospital Tawang bagged the �best district hospital award� along with a cash incentive of Rs 50 lakh and a citation, while DH Yingkiong got the commendation award with a cash incentive of Rs 3 lakh.

Under the CHC category, Ruksin CHC received the best CHC award and a cash incentive of Rs 15 lakh and a citation, while commendation award went to CHC Jang (Tawang) along with a cash incentive of Rs 1 lakh.

Earlier, while welcoming the gathering, Mission Director (National Health Mission), PN Thungon mentioned that the award of cash incentives and citations are being given annually since May 2015 through the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. The award is given under the following parameters: hospital upkeep, sanitation & hygiene, waste management, infection control, support services and hygiene promotion. The Minister mentioned that the State Government also has a plan to encourage further strengthening the healthcare delivery system.
