State level job fair organised

GUWAHATI, March 17 - Assam State Urban Livelihoods Mission Society (ASULMS), a Govt of Assam society under the Urban Development Department, in its maiden effort to provide gainful wage employment to urban unemployed youths of Assam, organised the first phase of the State Level Job Fair christened �Sangsthapan 2017-18� yesterday at the Maniram Dewan Trade Centre, stated a press release today.

The job fair is organised for those urban poor youths who have undergone skills training under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM), a flagship mission of the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. The mission is being implemented in Assam by ASULMS in different districts of Assam.

The candidates attending the job fair were also certified in different courses under DAY-NULM by various sector skill councils and Regional Directorate of Apprenticeship Training (RDAT). A total of 328 candidates participated in the event.

A total of 43 recruiters from all over India participated in the job fair for recruiting candidates for various positions. Out of the recruiters two organisations, Polo Towers and Hinduja Group conducted an interview session over video conference.

Some of the big names associated with the job fair included Maruti Udyog Ltd, Radisson Blu Hotel, Pizza Hut, Mukesh Hyundai, L&T Microfinance, Idea Cellular, Eureka Forbes, Reliance Retail, Topcem Cements, Future Group, Convergence BPO, Shriram Life Insurance, etc.
