State-level debate organised

GUWAHATI, Nov 27 - The North East Institute of Advance Studies organised an all-Assam inter-college debate competition on November 25, in which teams from prestigious institutions took part on the topic �One Nation, One Election�, stated a press release.

Dhiman Patgiri of College of Veterinary Science clinched the first spot, while Moon Talukdar of Gauhati University and Jagya Pratim Saikia of Cotton University were adjudged as second and third respectively. Jury�s special prize was awarded to Manavendra Singh of National Law University & Judicial Academy. All the three winners received cash prizes with a trophy and a certificate each.

Speaking on the occasion as the keynote speaker, noted educationist Prof Udayon Misra praised all the participants for their critical thinking and logical presentation on public speaking. He appreciated the standard of the debate and lauded all the participants.
