State Govt to publish White Paper on Central funds

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Oct 18 - Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today announced that the State Government would publish a White Paper on the funds received from the Centre and expenditures from 2001 to 2015. He also said that the State Government employees would continue getting their salaries on time.

In a statement, Gogoi said that the BJP should also come out with a White Paper on the funds provided to Assam. The suspension of a number of Central schemes as well as withdrawal of the special category State status proved that the NDA Government at the Centre is not keen on development of the North East.

Gogoi said that the Centre did not release any additional fund to the State to tide over the crisis of flood and erosion. He alleged that the Centre also did not pay heed to the concerns of the State Government on the possible fallout of the dams constructed by China. He further alleged that the Prime Minister is spending huge amounts in foreign trips but did not give adequate funds to the State.

Meanwhile, Gogoi said that the State Government has not diverted funds to pay the salaries, as alleged.
