State Govt to appoint 21,936 LP, UP teachers

GUWAHATI, June 24 � The process for the next phase of appointment of school teachers in Lower Primary (LP) and Upper Primary (UP) levels for a total of 21,936 posts across the State, excluding the Sixth Schedule districts, will begin from tomorrow.

Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday announced that the appointment letters would be issued before August 15 this year. Addressing mediapersons here, the minister informed that the advertisement in connection to appointment in LP and UP schools would be issued tomorrow and by July-end the process will be completed.

A total of 21131 posts will be filled up in the LP level and a total of 805 posts will be filled up in the UP level. Additional 3500 posts are for the Sixth Schedule districts only and a special TET would be held for these posts in November or December this year.

�We hope to fill up all the vacancies within this financial year including the 12,000 regular posts,� said Sarma disclosing that three special TETs would be conducted for the Shiksha Mitras in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
