State Govt report to SC on July 13

NEW DELHI, July 9 - The Supreme Court on Monday allowed Assam Government�s plea and asked it submit its report on disappearance of ULFA negotiator, Rebati Phukan on July13.

A Bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Abhay Manohar Sapray and Jusice U U Lalit today hearing a plea by Assam Government passed the fresh direction. The State Government was scheduled to file a report before the Court regarding the case.

A vacation court of the apex court on June 15 was told by the Assam Government�s counsel that it will place before it some confidential documents regarding the Rebati Phukan disappearance case for its perusal.

The Supreme Court had earlier on June 1 issued notice to the Centre and the State Government returnable within two weeks, asking it to reply to a petition by Kaushik Phukan seeking the whereabouts of his father Rebati Phukan, who went missing on April 22.
