State Govt employees to get free health care

GUWAHATI, Dec 22 - The employees and pensioners of the State Government will from now be able to avail the benefits of free-of-cost health care services.

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today informed a delegation of the Sadou Assam Karmachari Parishad (SAKP) at a meeting held with them at the conference room of his secretariat here today of this decision of the State Government.

According to an official press release, the Chief Minister also told the SAKP delegation that the demand of the Parishad for release of the arrear amounts against the recommendations of the latest State Pay Commission is under active consideration of the State Government. The State Government has initiated steps to release the sums against the arrear amounts and it will make an announcement before the ensuing Magh Bihu, he said.

The empowered committee is considering the demand for paying the muster roll employees at par with the grade four employees and the State Government will take a decision on the issue following the submission of the report of the empowered committee, he said.
