State Congress to take its time

By Spl Correspondent

NEW DELHI, Sept 4 - The State Congress party is not going to immediately approach the Assam Assembly Speaker for the disqualification of Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Divulging this, chief spokesman of Assam Congress Ripun Bora said that according to a latest party strategy, they are going to wait for some time before moving the Speaker for disqualification under anti-defection laws. We will wait for some time before making any move, he said.

Bora further reminded that Sarma, who has joined the BJP, has so far not resigned from the primary membership of the Congress party and from his MLA seat.

Talking to reporters, Bora said that Sarma has been bluffing everyone about his strength. He does not enjoy the support of more than four MLAs, Bora claimed. Himantas departure from the party would not have any impact on the Congress party, while the BJPs headache will increase, Bora observed.
