State Cong promoting influx, says BJP

By Staff reporter

GUWAHATI, Aug 27 Senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) SS Ahluwalia on Monday alleged that the ruling Congress in the State was promoting a systematic infiltration that has created a demographic imbalance in the society.

Ahluwalia, addressing media persons here said that in Dhubri, the focal point of infiltration, the Hindus have been reduced to minority and demanded that administrative measures be undertaken to ensure security to the Hindus in all the districts that have recorded alarming demographic changes.

In Dhubri majority of the relief camps are fictitious. It is another ploy of the government to legitimize the illegal migrants through the process of rehabilitation, alleged the BJP leader pointing out that vote bank politics is one of the factors behind the conflict in BTAD and other areas.

Ahluwalia along with MP from Madhya Pradesh Jyoti Dhurve visited the relief camps in Kokrajhar and interacted with the violence-affected people and the local leaders yesterday. These two leaders had accompanied the team of BJP leaders on a goodwill mission to the State to reassure the students and professionals based in different parts of the country.
