State chess meet

GUWAHATI, Dec 29 - The ongoing 39th All Assam Inter District Chess Championship entered its fourth day where players from Guwahati Chess Association, GTC Chess Foundation and PC Barooah Chess Academy dominated the stage in most of the age categories.

In the U-17 boys�, Nitish Das (GTC) lead the table (3.5 points) after round 4. He is followed by Iftikar Alom Mazumdar and Swapnaneel Dowerah of Dibrugarh on 3 points each.

In the U-7 girls�, Afsheen is at the top with 3 points, while Kosturi Kalita is placed second with 2 points after the fourth round.

In the U-11 boys�, Dhrupad Kashyap (GTC) is leading the group with 5.5 points after 6 rounds. Ahiron Kaushik Saikia of Golaghat is on the second spot with 5 points.

In the U-9 boys�, CM Shahil Dey (Ghy) maintained his dominance by scoring 6 points out of 6 rounds. Asvin Sharma (Ghy) is on seond spot with 5 points.

In the U-13 boys�, Dhritiman Bez (Ghy), Arkaprovo Rajkhowa (PC Barooah) and Bhavishnu Pranti Bordoloi of (GTC) are leading the group with 5 points each. Krittibash Deva Sarmah (Tin), Lakhyajit Sonowal (Jor) and Aryan Sonowal (Dib) are on second place with 4.5 points each. The final rounds in all categories will be played on Wednesday morning and the closing ceremony will be held at 4 pm.
