GUWAHATI, Aug 26 - The Assam chapter of the Council for Teacher Education, an international organisation formed with the prime objective of fostering teachers� professional development, held a meeting at the Guwahati Press Club on Saturday, a press release stated. A new committee of the State chapter was formed in the meeting for a term of five years, with Dr Asomi Gogoi as chairman, Arati Kalita as vice chairman, Purabi Das Kalita as secretary general, Dr Satyabrata Baruah as treasurer and five executive members.
CTE district coordinators were also appointed to give a thrust to CTE activities in Assam. The meeting also proposed an international conference under the banner of NE-CTE in April 2019 and chalked out a number of activities for the ensuing year, stated the release issued by Nilima Bhagabati, international secretary general, CTE.
