GUWAHATI, Sep 16 - The Guwahati Frontier clinched the title in the 10th SSB Inter Frontier Hockey Championship held at Maulana M Tayyebulla Hockey Stadium, here on Wednesday.

The hosts team defeated Ranikhet Frontier 3-1 in the title clash.

Nine times winner Guwahati team outclassed their opponent from the very beginning and retained their dominance in hockey against all the four Frontier teams namely Lucknow, Ranikhet, Patna and Siliguri.

It was virtually a one-sided affair as the host team hardly had to toil much in flooring the opponent team.

Mukesh Sahay, DGP (HG), Assam Police, was present in the closing function as the chief guest along with other officers. The closing function also enthralled the audience by the SSB Band and March-Past of the teams.

Mukesh Sahay lauded the teams for their active participation and playing in team spirit. The Championship not only honed the skills but also enabled to search for talented players for the Police Duty Meet.
