SSB distributes aid in Indo-Bhutan border

RANGIYA, Oct 14 � Under the goodwill initiative of civic action programme of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), 33rd battalion, with a view to upgrading lifestyles and providing employment avenues to the poverty-stricken and needy people residing in border villages, recently distributed different materials free of cost to nearly 100 benefiacies residing at Nagapur and Hartola villages near the Indo-East Bhutan border a few kms away from Rangiya.

The SSB battalion under the umbrella of civic action programme has distributed various materials like agricultural tools, seeds, carpentry tools, sports items, etc, to selected needy villagers of the said two villages to upgrade the living style as well as to find means to earn their living. Materials were distributed to the beneficiaries in distribution ceremonies organized by SSB in the two villages in presence of senior SSB officials, local people and other senior citizens of the locality.

Officiating commandant of the 33rd SSB battalion Rajiv Rana was present as the chief guest on the occasion, who distributed the items to the beneficiaries. Dy Commandant Ajay Sharma of the battalion, Jayanta Borah, in charge of the Patkijuli SSB camp, local senior citizens, including Mohan Chandra Basumatary and others were also present. Commandant Rana in his speech stated that SSB under the Home Ministry is always committed for the security, safety in border areas and simultaneously has such positive plan to upgrade the poor populace and bring them at par with others.

SSB�s civic action programme is one such goodwill scheme to cover the most needy ones with the free benefits for good cause of the people, the Commandant said.
