Sports talent scholarship

GUWAHATI, Aug 21 - The State Government will provide sports talent scholarship for the year 2019. Stating this in a release, Director of Sports and Youth Welfare Dharma Kanta Mili informed that scholarship will be provided in two categories � National Level and State level.

The amount for the National Level scholarship will be Rs 20,000, Rs 18,000 and Rs 16,000 for the gold, silver and bronze medal winners respectively while in the State Level gold, silver and bronze medal winners will be given Rs 12,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 8,000 respectively in the disciplines of aquatics, athletics, archery, badminton, basketball, boxing, canoe-kayak, cycling, fencing, football, gymnastic, handball, hockey, judo, kabaddi, kho-kho, lawn bowl, netball, rowing, rugby, shooting, squash, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, triathlon, volleyball, weightlifting, wrestling, wushu, yachting, karate and sepak takraw.

Medal winning sportspersons may collect the application forms from the office of the District Sports Officer of their respective districts before September 30.
