BAIHATA CHARIALI, Dec 25 - The fifth edition of special cultural programme of Idd Mehfil organised by Radhakuchi New Sun Club will be held at 2 no. Radhakuchi LP School playground tomorrow.

The programme will begin with the �Koran Khatam� and mass prayer for the establishment of peace in the world at 7 am. At 8 am, Mantu Talukdar, officer-in charge of Baihata Chariali police station will hoist the flag, while at 9 am Satish Chandra Deka, village chief, Nurudddin Ahmed, Siddik Ali, Lokman Ali, Osman Ali and Habibur Rahman will take part in the sapling plantation programme.

At 10 am, games and sports events will be held for the schoolchildren. At 3 pm, a seminar on �the role of guardians, teachers and community for the uplift of the present state of the society� will be held where Matlebuddin Ahmed, Trailokya Deka, president of Karara GP, Gita Sakti Deka, member of Pub-Kacharimahal ZPC, Lokman Bora, Taznur Ali Saikia, Pradip Kumar Goswami, principal of Karara HS School and Nazimuddin Ahmed will grace the occasion as resource persons.

At 6 pm, Lakshi Kanta Sarma will inaugurate the cultural programme and prize distribution meeting. In the prize distribution meeting, the circle officer of Kamalpur revenue circle Bipul Das, local MLA of Kamalpur LAC Jadab Chandra Deka; Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kamrup (R) Nabanit Mahanta, social worker Alauddin Ahmed, SDO, ASEB, Baihata Chariali, Prakash Chandra Dutta and Amitabh Samajpati, ASEB engineer Chandan Deka, noted social worker Abdul Mazid, and Kamal Ahmed will be present as guests. At 7 pm, local artistes and singers will perform group songs and from 8 pm, invited singer artistes will perform their colourful cultural programmes.

Jabed Ali Choudhury and Rahmanuddin Ahmed, president and secretary of the Idd Mehphil�s cultural programme organising committee have appealed to the public of the area to extend their cooperation to make the programme a success.
