GUWAHATI, Oct 8 - A review meeting of the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) today reached consensus on commissioning the South Guwahati West Water Supply Project in Jalukbari by December 31 next.
The meeting was held in the conference hall of the organisation to discuss the implementation of the water supply project. The meeting was presided over by the GMDA Chairman and attended by officials of Gammon India Limited, Tahal Consulting Engineers Limited, and Institutional Capacity Development Consultants of Guwahati Jal Board, among others.
House connections to the consumers would be provided by the Guwahati Jal Board from January 15, 2016 onwards and ICDS would provide the connection as per the requirement of the public and they have been asked to carry out the necessary arrangements for the purpose by January 2016.
Tahal group, the project management consultant, while discussing the implementation of the project, informed the gathering that substantial progress has been made on the ground so far.
