GUWAHATI, Oct 21 - Former Team India captain and present president of the Cricket Association of Bengal Sourav Ganguly praised Assam Cricket Association for organising the opening match of the five-match India-West Indies ODI series in a befitting manner.

Watching the initial part of the match at the ACA Stadium, Barsapara here today, Ganguly said, Assam has been a good host of international and domestic matches. After completing this stadium, Assam became rich in cricket infrastructure and I believe in the coming days, ACA will get more international matches.

He also hoped that ACA will be able to produce good cricketers after creating this state-of-the-art infrastructure. Ganguly also praised the crowd considering the number. I am happy to see such a big crowd and hope both the teams will be encouraged to perform in this beautiful environment, he said.

Ganguly also released the souvenir published on the occasion of the India-West Indies match, before leaving for Kolkata at around 3 pm.
