NEW DELHI, Dec 12 - Chief Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal on Tuesday called on Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and raised the issue of contamination of the waters of Brahmaputra River.
The Chief Minister, who arrived here this afternoon met the Prime Minister later in the evening and urged the Prime Minister to take up the issue with China, said sources.
The Chief Minister had not returned from the Prime Minister�s residence till the time of filing of this report.
Interestingly, the issue of contamination of the Brahmaputra River was not taken up by India when the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi was in India to participate in the 15th Russia, India China (RIC) meeting held here yesterday.
