Sonitpur admn�s tough stand against TEs

TEZPUR, April 25 � The Sonitpur district administration has issued an order to take step for the attachment of movable property of tea estates for allegedly failing to pay revenue against the revenue year 2011-2012 to 2013-2014.

In a press note issued to the media here from the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Sonitpur it was stated that in spite of demand notice issued from the time to time for payment of land revenue by the different tea estates of Sonitpur district the tea estates namely Ghogra Tea Estate, Panbari Tea Estate and Singri Tea Estate of Tezpur sub-division are yet to be paid of land revenue for the revenue year 2011-2012 to 2013-2014 amounting to Rs 6, 46,026/-, Rs 3,84, 621/- and Rs 3, 20,888/- respectively.

�In exercise of the power conferred vide Rule 69 of Assam Land Revenue Regulation, 1886 the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sonitpur, Mukul Kumar Saikia has issued order for the attachment of movable property of the mentioned TEs�. The press note further stated that steps have been taken for the attachment of the others defaulting TEs in the district.
