GUWAHATI, Oct 21 - A national workshop on soil health card and soil health management for NE region � sponsored by the Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare (INM Division), Government of India � was held here recently.
Speaking on the occasion, Agriculture Minister Rakibul Hussain stressed the need for enhanced production of foodgrain in view of the shrinking cropland due to different factors.
Hussain said that soil health held the key to sustaining an increased productivity.
Those who attended the workshop included agricultural scientists and officials from the Central and State governments.
