GUWAHATI, Oct 31 - The Srimanta Shankar Kristi Bikash Samity today mourned the death of its former president, eminent freedom fighter and social activist Ganesh Chandra Das, who left for his heavenly abode on October 28 due to old age ailments.
A memorial meet presided over by the Samity�s president Dhiresh Narayan Choudhury fondly remembered the active participation of Ganesh Chandra Das in all the works related to the Samity. He was also associated with the Shanti Sadhana Ashram, Assam Satra Mahasabha and many other organisations. Members of the Samity prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and extended their sympathies to the bereaved family, said a statement.
