Soccer team for exposure tour

GUWAHATI, July 18 � City based football body � Assam Association of Youth Soccer (AAYS) � will send a 15-member U-19 team for an exposure tour to Rajasthan and Delhi under the banner of Assam Rhino Football Club (ARFC).

Elaborating about the tour, AAYS secretary Ranajit Mahanta and assistant secretary Nandita Goswami said in a press conference here today that the tour will start on August 11 with a match against Mayoor School, Ajmeer and on August they will play against Mayo College next day. They are also planning to play few match in Delhi but the schedule is yet to be finalised.

The organisers said they are committed to work for the development of the game in the State and for that they are organising coaching camps and holding different type of competitions since their inception in 2010.

Both Mahanta and Goswami said their players have the liberty to play for any team in Assam or India as at present their organisation is not yet registered to and organisation like Guwahati Sports Association or Assam Football Association. At present, their prime motto is to produce quality players and with that intention they are sending the team to north India so that they can gain experience and learn to play in different atmosphere.

The organisers today felicitated former captain of Indian school football team Sushanat Musahary and player Kumud Barman. Musahary explained about his experience during his playing days and urged the ARFC players to make full use of this tour and learn as much as possible. Swayam Priority Group is co-sponsor of the tour.
