DHUBRI, Dec 16 - Acting on a tip off, Dhubri Police on Thursday night seized 14 gunny bags containing 12,34,800 Sukhi contraceptive pills which was smuggled from Bangladesh.
Under the supervision of SP Dhubri Longneet Terang, the consignment of the contraceptive pills was recovered at Char Bhasani area. This recovery is one of the biggest such seizure of contraceptive pills till now, the SP said.
Police informed that these pills are very popular in the remote char areas and are illegal smuggled in India. OC Dhubri Police, Pradip Kr Das said that no arrest has been made as the accused managed to elope after getting the information of police raid. A case has been registered and further investigation is on to nab the culprits.
