Slain jawan laid to rest

KAMPUR, March 24 � The slain jawan, killed by Maoist guerrillas during an ambush on March 11 at Chhatisgarh was brought to his village viz., Kampur Ghilani on March 13 according to Muslim rites and Army honour at the Ghilani funeral ground.

A number of high officials including DIG, SK Upadhya, Additional Deputy Commissioner Nagaon, H Teronpi, Additional SP Hitesh Roy and a host of other officials and dignitaries attended the janaja of Faizul Haque (34), a CRPF jawan who was killed along with 11 jawans in the Chhatisgarh ambush on March 11. Faizul hails from Ghilani under Kampur police station.

Earlier, a huge motorcycle rally escorted Faizul�s coffin upto Ghilani crematorium where thousands mourned his untimely death, including his parents and relatives.

A number of social organisations including Kampur Unnati Sadhini Sabha, Kampur Sahitya Sabha, Kampur Senior Citizens� Association, Kampur Press Club mourned the death of the valiant jawan who laid down his life for the sake of his motherland.
