NORTH LAKHIMPUR, Jan 29 � Lakhimpur mourned Gulzar Hussain, the Additional Superintendent of Police of Sonitpur, who was killed by NDFB(S) in Dhekiajuli yesterday. His body arrived in his native village in Bihpuria this morning.
A 2002 batch APS officer, Hussain was an alumnus of North Lakhimpur College and was associated with the Asam Sahitya Sabha�s Lohit-Dikrong unit, Bihpuria.
Hussain was laid to rest with full State honours in the graveyard of his native village of Keyanmora in Dongibeel, Bihpuria, some 40 kms from North Lakhimpur at 11 am today. His janaja was attended by Imdad Hussain, Additional SP of Lakhimpur and thousands of mourners from all walks of life. Various organisations, like AASU, AAMSU, ATASU, AASA, Gorkha Students� Union, Asam Sahitya Sabha, etc., condoled Hussain�s death.
