GUWAHATI, Oct 30 - In all,six books authored by prominent writer and businessman Dwijen Phukan and Disha Barua were released at a solemn function held at the Ganeshguri-based NEDFi House auditorium here on Wednesday, a press release stated.
The newly released books by Dwijen Phukan are Sonali Sei Sudin, Guwahatir Kotokotha, Smritir Saa-Pohar,
Eri Oha Dinor Collage, Bukut Ekura Jui, besides a book by Dwijen Phukan and Disha Barua titled Shillong-Shillong.Published by KC Lahkar Agency, the books were formally released by noted litterateur Nirupama Borgohain, Dr Anima Guha, prominent journalist Dhirendranath Bezboruah, Patricia Mukhim, Ajit Kumar Bhuyan and Nitya Bora respectively.
Lauding the initiative by Dwijen Phukan, Dr Anima Guha said that the today�s generation ought to know about the life and times of the past in order to dwell fruitfully in the present.
On the other hand, Patricia Mukhim appreciated the lively presentation of diverse experiences in the book titled Shillong-Shillong.
Lamenting that an environment of mistrust and lack of tolerance had pervaded society today, Nitya Bora rued that finer nuances of everyday life seemed to become a rarity with every passing day. He too appreciated the novel initiative by Dwijen Phukan, which was subsequently backed up by Nirupama Borgohain, Dhirendranath Bezboruah and Ajit Kumar Bhuyan.
Earlier, the ceremonial lamp was lit by educationist Anil Kumar Goswami while the solemn function was anchored by journalist Bipul Kumar Sarma.
