Sivasagar to host ranking TT meet

GUWAHATI, July 14 � Sivasagar District Sports Association will host the All Assam Major State Ranking Table Tennis Championship from July 27 to 29.

Informing this the Assam Table Tennis Association (ATTA) secretary Tridib Duvarah said, this championship will counted as an important one as it will be the first State meet after the month-long advanced coaching camp under North Korean coach Lee Jung Sik.

Altogether 11 events will be conducted in the three-day meet where around 400 paddlers are likely to cross swords.

Govinda Upadhaya of Guwahati has been appointed as chief referee while he will be assisted by Biman Bhagawati of Sivasagar and Chandan Goswami of Nagaon. Subhajit Sinha of Golaghat and Kukil Dutta of Duliajan will be act as observers in the meet. The ATTA has asked the affiliated districts to send entries before July 21.
