GUWAHATI, July 2 � One Bhaskar Dutta of Pathsala was detained by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Guwahati Police formed to investigate the triple murder of June 19 in Hatigaon area.
Police said that the character antecedents of Dutta are being verified as he was pretty close to both Pranab Mahanta and his wife Priyanka Mahanta.
Police sources claimed that Dutta could be arrested by tonight. Another section informed that so far no �direct involvement� of Dutta in the triple murder case has been found.
