SILCHAR, May 25 - Four students from Barak valley made it to the toppers� list of successful candidates in the HS final examination the results of which were declared today with Ashim Sarkar of Vivekananda Junior College here securing the first position in commerce stream.
Ashim, who scored 474 marks out of 500, studied 13-14 hours daily and knew the results would be good, but he never expected that he would top the merit list. �Credit goes to my college teachers and my parents.
I wish to be a teacher and contribute to the noble task of nation building,� said Ashim, son of Amit Sarkar and Purnima Sarkar.
