MANGALDAI, April 9 � Silchar cruised into the final of the JK Baruah U-19 Inter District Cricket Tournament.
In the second semifinal, Silchar edged past Karimganj by a vital one-run lead as the match ended in a draw at the Mangaidai Stadium here today. In reply to Karimganj�s first innings total of 97, Silchar, resuming at the overnight total of 82 for seven, were all out for 98. In the second innings, Karimganj declared at 119 for eight and Silchar, requiring 120 for an outright victory, were 114 for seven when stumps were finally drawn.
Now, in the final, Silchar will play against Lakhimpur on April 11 and 12 at the same venue.
