Shotokan karate meet in city

GUWAHATI, Aug 31 - The 1st All Assam Shotokan Karate Seminar and Championship is going to be held on September 2 and 3 at the Bhogeswari Phukanani Indoor Stadium here.

Around 400 players from different group of Shotokan Style Karate under UKAA have registered their names for participation in the championship which will be organised by the Shotokan Karate-Do Promotion Council of UKAA, hosted by the Japan Shotokan Karate-Do Kanninjuku Organisation, Assam in association with Greater Guwahati Karate-Do Association.

Altogether 65 different event for sub-junior (8-13 yrs), cadet (14-15 yrs), junior (16-17 yrs) and senior (above 18 yrs), categories, both male and female, will be played in the meet.

Prior to the championship a day-long seminar on Shotokan Kata and Kumite will be held on September 2 which will be conducted by the 7th Degree Black Belt holder and Referee Commission Chairman of Karate Association of India Renshi Paramjeet S Singh.
