TIHU, July 27 - Gorkha Regiment of Shillong stepped in to the quarterfinal of the 41th Naroram Barman Football Tournament defeating Holowating United FC by a margin of 2-1 goal in the last pre-quarterfinal match being played at the Chamata Stadium, near here today.
Tsureng Bhutia and Rasuan Gurung of Garkha Regiment scored one goal each in the 2nd and 5th minutes respectively while Tinku Baglari of Holowating United FC reduced the margin in the 56th minutes. Daimolu Sports Club of Udalguri will take on Garkha Regiment Shillong on July 29 in the first quarterfinal.
The championship is being organised by the Chamata Anchalik Krira Sangha and sponsored by Oil India Ltd Noida.
