IMPHAL, May 24 The verdict in the case against Manipurs human rights activist Irom Sharmila will be delivered by the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal East here on June 4.

This was announced during the final hearing into the chargesheet filed by the State Governments prosecution under Section 309 of the IPC. After appearing in the hearing in the ongoing case, Sharmila had expressed her desire to meet Prime Minister designate Narendra Modi during her proposed visit to Delhi on May 27.

She hoped that the new government under the leadership of Narendra Modi will listen to her voice against the AFSPA. Sharmila will be leaving Imphal on May 27 to appear before the Court of Metropolitan Magistrate, Patiala Court in New Delhi on May 28 in connection with a pending case against her for staging a hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in October 2006.
