Shahil shares top spot in U-7 chess tourney

GUWAHATI, Sept 4 � After the completion of five rounds, Bharath Subramaniyam (TN) and Shahil Dey (ASM) are holding the top spots with 5 points each at the ongoing 28th National Under 7 Open and Girls Chess Championship organised by Global Chess Foundation and Kolkata District Chess Association under the aegis of Bengal Chess Association and All India Chess Federation in Kolkata.

Top four players from this tournament will be selected for the under-7 World Chess Championship to be played later on.

Assam�s, open category: Sahil Dey (5 pts), Avash Raimya Saikia (3� pts), Ayushraj Sharma (3 pts), Bivek Rajkumar (3 pts), Prangobinda Parashar Kashyap (3 pts), Sajal Saroj Lahkar (3 pts), Madhurjya Roy (2 pts), Ashvin Sarma (1 pts) and Moksh Iyer (1 pts), while in the girls category Ashlesha Talukdar scored 3 points respectively.
