GUWAHATI, Aug 2 - Young chess prodigy of Assam Shahil Dey, FIDE ranking 2207, will represent India in the (U-12) World Cadet Chess Championship to be held in China from August 22 to September 2.
Another Assam boy Mayank Chakraborty, a student of South Point School here has also been selected as a member of the Indian team for the (U-10) World Cadet Chess Championship in China.
Taekwondo medals: Three girls from North Lakhimpur won medals in the 36th All Assam State Taekwondo Championship which concluded in Nalbari on July 30.
Ekta Rahti won gold medal in junior U-52 kg category while Tulika Singh also got gold medal in the U-68 kg senior category. Swastika Bhardwaj won bronze medal in the cadet U-51 kg group.
