NEW DELHI, Oct 20 - Finance Minister of Assam and convenor of the North East Democratic Alliance, Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday met BJP national president Amit Shah to firm up an election strategy for the Manipur Assembly polls scheduled to be held next year.

Replying to questions, Sarma said the BJP in Assam is going to contest the Lakhimpur Lok Sabha bye-election on its own. This is because the seat was represented by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
