Shah blames Cong for NEs plight

By Prabir Sil

AGARTALA, April 27 Calling upon the people to uproot the Left regime in Tripura, BJP president Amit Shah on Monday said the State would be benefited if it ropes in Prime Minister Narendra Modis vision for the North East.

I had been in the North East for the past two weeks and found development has not taken place in the region as the government has not taken care of them, he said while addressing a party rally at Vivekananda Ground here.

Riding on the massive mandate in 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP has established a government in Delhi and started infusing new concepts to speed up development in the NE.

UPAs much-hyped Look East policy has been converted into Act East Policy only to speed up development activities, he said adding that around Rs 12 lakh crore have been looted during the 10 years of UPA regime.

One after another scams have rocked the UPA regime resulting in huge loss to the public exchequer. See one-year performance card of Narendra Modi Government even opposition parties could not bring any allegation of scam against the BJP Government, he claimed.

Highlighting the BJP Governments success, Shah said the public exchequer has gained a lot from auction of coal blocks and spectrum.

The government has been able to arrest the sky-rocketing price hike which was crippling the life of common people. The fuel prices have also been slashed down in the BJP regime, he said.

Poking fun at Congress and CPMs claims of working for the poor, Shah said around 60 lakh people did not even have bank accounts during 10 years of UPA regime. In the past 11 months, a total of 14 core bank accounts have been opened after the Prime Minister launched the Janadhan Yojana, he pointed out.

On the black money issue, Shah said it was Narendra Modi Government that has enforced 10 years imprisonment of anybody found guilty in stashing money in foreign soil.

Aiming to answer Chief Minister Manik Sarkars allegation of withdrawal of MGNREGA, Shah said, The BJP Government has not brought any change in the job generation programme. It remains as it was earlier. The allegation of withdrawal of MGREGA was baseless, he added.

Hitting hard at the CPM, he said the party has already lost its base in West Bengal and Kerala, and Tripura is the lone State in which it is in power. The days are not far when their last boat will sink in the sea, he said urging the people to strengthen the hand of Narendra Modi by uprooting Marxists from the State.

Party general secretary Ram Madhab, secretary Sunil Deodhar and several party leaders also spoke in the rally.
