Shah addresses BJP pristha pramukhs rally in Tripura

By Correspondent

AGARTALA, Jan 5 - Sounding the election bugle, BJP national president Amit Shah today made an appeal to the people of Tripura to gift both the Lok Sabha seats to Narendra Modi in the overall interest of the country.

Addressing the BJPs pristha pramukh sammelan on the Vivekananda Ground here, Shah said that the people of the State have overcome the fear of community repression and the politics of murder, and now it was the time to build up a vibrant and developed Tripura.

Shah, who is currently on a tour of the country in the context of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, chose Tripura as the launching pad for his poll campaign. Shah asserted that the BJP-IPFT Government would transform Tripura within its tenure of five years.

He said that the previous State Government had deliberately deprived the States royal family of their due recognition and honour, but the BJP-led Central and State governments have renamed the Agartala airport after Maharaja Bir Bikram.

Listing the achievements of the Modi-led Government at the Centre, Shah said that after the minimum support price (MSP) was fixed, 50,000 kg of rice were being sold in Tripura through the FCI.

Shah said the BJP has set the target of winning 21 out of the 25 Lok Sabha seats in the North East. In the North East, the political wave continues to flow in favour of Narendra Modi as both the Congress and the CPI(M) have been wiped out of the region. I believe that the BJP will surely win 21 Lok Sabha seats in the general election, he claimed.

Shah said the CPI (M) Government did nothing for the development of the poor, but the BJP-led NDA Government has ensured Mudra Loan for 13 crore youths, while there will be a coverage of 5 lakh crore under the Anushashan Bharat Yojana.

Shah also lashed out at the boundless acts of corruption of UPA-I and UPA-II and said that the previous UPA governments had destroyed the foundational ethos of the country.

Shah gave the credit for the BJPs victory in the Tripura Assembly elections to the thousands of prishtha pramukhs and called upon them to work tirelessly to ensure a resounding victory for Modi and the BJP in the ensuing Lok Sabha polls.

Party leaders Ram Madhav, Sunil Deodhar, Ajay Jamwal, Himanta Biswas Sarma and Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb also spoke in the sammelan-cum-rally.
