GUWAHATI, March 2 To facilitate healthy recreation for the people coming to Deshabhakta Tarun Ram Phookun Park in Bharalumukh, Save Guwahati Build Guwahati (SGBG) would soon arrange for state-of-the-art sound system playing patriotic songs and classic compositions of renowned singers and musicians of the State.

The NGO that looks after the maintenance of the park has decided to provide this facility to the visitors on every evening from 5 to 6 pm. The facility is supposed to start within the next few days.

Other than songs, we would also play some of the rare collections of speeches by great leaders of the country including Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and Subhash Chandra Bose among others, president of the SGBG Dhiren Baruah told The Assam Tribune.

The most modern technical equipments are in place to provide quality service to the common people coming to the park expecting a soothing evening, he added.

Baruah also said the NGO would hold its annual general meeting this month and would elect its new general secretary.

The former general secretary of the SGBG, Kailash Sarma resigned from his post on February 20 after he joined a political party. No person contesting election can be an active member of the SGBG and thus his resignation was accepted by the NGO, Baruah said.
