GUWAHATI, Nov 12 � The Save Guwahati Build Guwahati (SGBG) today appealed to the district administration to preserve the Latasil ground for sports activities.
The SGBG, in a letter to the DC, Kamrup (M), mentioned that this ground is the only open space for children of the locality and from other far flung areas to practice different sports.
�A decision was taken by citizens of Ujanbazar, the district administration and the State government to preserve Latasil as an open space so that children can practice sports and for celebration of Bohag Bihu and Durga Puja. But it has been reported now that this open space will be made available for special programmes by the district administration,� said the SGBG, insisting that the district administration desist from granting such permission.
