Seven-day NSS camp concludes

GUWAHATI, Dec 1 - A special seven-day camp organised by the National Service Scheme (NSS) at Lalit Chandra Bharali (LCB) College here, concluded today. During the camp a village named Adinggiri near Boragaon was adopted for rendering various services by the volunteers.

As part of the programme, the NSS volunteers visited 21 houses of the village for survey and awareness drives, including two awareness programmes on dengue and anaemia and free health check-up camp with help from the National Health Mission.

Various competitions like essay writing, drawing, dance, song, recitation etc., were also held as part of the camp. A street drama was performed by a group called Jagriti.

Advocate Dipak Sharma, while addressing the participants during the camp, deliberated on the Right to Information (RTI) Act. Principal of the college Dr Adison Ali also addressed the participants, said a statement. The programme was coordinated by Hira Bala Das, programme officer of the college NSS unit.
