TEZPUR, Sept 22 - Sensation prevails here after an old woman was lynched by some villagers last night at Borghuli under Salonibari police outpost on suspicion of practising witchcraft.
Police has arrested four miscreants who allegedly beheaded the woman, later identified as Phaguni Kawari ( 50). The arrested accused � Antony Topno, Rate Topno, Sanjoy Surin and Rafel Surin � are being interrogated at Tezpur police station. The body of woman was brought to Kanaklata Civil Hospital here this morning for post-mortem.
Meanwhile, the villagers denied any practice of witch craft by the woman.
